Things I'm thankful for...

On our fourth advisory meeting of the 2011-2012 school year on December 1, we had received a sheet to list the things we are thankful for. This is my list of top things I am thankful for:

  • Late night phone calls with my Grandmother, every other night my grandmother and I talk about our day, our feelings, and just talk through some stressful things in our lives.
  • My cats, I am thankful for my cats because they know when I'm sad and come and comfort me. I have three cats, Jumbles, Polc, and Gingy. Their fluffiness always cheers me up and they are so kawaii.
  • The interwebs, I am thankful for the interwebs because I can communicate with my friends and family, I can get homework done, and I can just go on my Tumblr blog and find funny memes to reblog or go on MSPA:Homestuck and laugh about the things the trolls do (especially Gamzee).

3rd Advisory Meeting: PSA decision

On our 3rd advisory meeting of the 2011-2012 school year, our group got together to agree on which PSA project we wanted to start on. As a group we had two choices, the dangers of texting and driving or hallway etiquette. Some of the members of the group thought that in the high school environment we are in that we should do the PSA on the complications of texting and driving. There are multiple accounts of accidents that involve texting and driving and doing a PSA on the dangers would hopefully bring down the rates of these accidents and make the roads safe for everyone. The other members of our group thought that doing the PSA on hallway etiquette would be witty and funny to both entertain and inform the students of South Hadley High School that the hallways are made for walking and not used to launder around and block the halls for other students who need to get to their classes. Students walking in the hallways should pay respect to others in the hall and know how to avoid complications with other students.

Field Trips

On the second Advisory meeting of the 2011-2012 year, I met with Lauren to think up some ideas of education and beneficial field trips. Some of the ideas for taking an Advisory field trip were to the Boston Aquarium, Salem for Halloween, the Lupa Zoo, the Dinosaur Tracks, Plymouth Plantation, the Boston Trail, and the Butterfly Museum. Many of the places are within Massachusetts and in a reasonable distance from South Hadley High School.

We decided on these places because they are places where we can incorporate all school subjects and be an educational trip for all students within my Advisory group. Some of the places we discussed are nostalgic; they were field trips we took when we were students in middle school.

We are open to any new ideas for field trips, just post them in the comment box below ▼▼▼▼▼
